Richard Dale Wood, 74, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at his home.

The son of the late Donald Lee and Alice Mae (Curtis) Wood, he was born May 23, 1948 in Kirksville, Missouri. Richard was united in marriage to Carolyn West and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Dale Wood and one brother, Donald Wood Jr.

Richard is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David Lee and Lori Wood of Lebanon, MO, and Bradley Alan and Jennifer Wood of St. Louis, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Larry Granneman of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Jessica Wood, Casey Wood, Wittley Wood, and Vincent Wood all of Lebanon, MO, and Jonathan Wood of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as one niece and two nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

Richard was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1966. He was employed for McGraw Edison Company, later for Allied Dairy, and last twenty years at Adair Foods until retiring in 2016.

Richard enjoyed yard work, flowers, shrubs and loved his dogs Chloe and Buffy.

Public visitation will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from noon to 2:00 p.m. with funeral service following in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Interment will follow at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
