Clifford Eugene Turner, 81, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born September 22, 1941 in Kirksville, Missouri, Clifford was the son of the late Roy Lester and Myrtle Olive (Darnell) Turner. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, twins Levena Gregory and Lorena Darnell, and Betty (Hamilton) Beerbower, as well as five brothers, Perry Turner, Charles Turner, Thomas Turner, Donald Turner and Chester Turner.

In 1964, Clifford was united in marriage to Carol Blane who preceded him in death. On March 12, 1982, in Kirksville, Missouri, Clifford married Donneta Ward who survives. Clifford is also survived by his son, Steven Eugene Turner of Kirksville, MO; two grandchildren, Kory Turner and Carlee Nilson; two great-grandchildren, Daisy Turner and Maverick Nilson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Phyllis Turner of Queen City, MO, and Roy and Carolyn Turner of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Kathryn Vincent of Queen City, MO; sister-in-law, Odilia Turner of Kirksville, MO, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Clifford received his education in the Troy Mills country school. From 1964 to 1969 Clifford served in the National Guard. He was employed for several business's in Kirksville including Updyke Motors, Burdman Auto Parts, and for Milton Armstrong (Armstrong Foundation Co). In 1977 Clifford opened his own business Turner's Repair Shop which he operated until the time of his death.

Clifford enjoyed brush hogging, being outdoors on his farm, and raising a garden to share with his family and friends.

It was Clifford's wish to be cremated and a celebration of life with his family will take place Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the #3 Shelter House at Thousand Hills State Park in Kirksville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the memory of Clifford may be made to the Adair County Humane Society and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Clifford was always generous and helpful. He kept me on the road for more than 45 years. He will be long remembered and missed.
