Irvin Paul "Doc" Flynn, 82, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 at his home under Hospice and the care of his family.

Born December 2, 1940 in Lancaster, Missouri, Irvin was the son of the late Paul Eugene and Bessie Estelene (Ayers) Flynn. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marci Locust, and one brother, Larry Flynn. On May 5, 1972 in Unionville, Missouri, Doc was united in marriage to Sandra Knowles.

Doc is survived by his wife Sandra of fifty-two years; one daughter and son-in-law, Missie and Steven Mortimer of Alexandria, MO; one brother, Marvin Flynn of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Josh Locust, Alisha May, Ashley May, and Alex May; and twelve great-grandchildren, Carson, Emma, Roni, Jackson, Olivia Jane, Jacob, Kylie, Ryan, Emma, Ethan, Oliver, and Colt.

Doc was a graduate from Livonia High School. He worked for Baldwin Bismark several years before going to work at Florsheim Shoe Factory. Doc later retired in 2010 after working as a janitor at Ray Miller School.

Doc had several hobbies including woodworking, deer hunting, fishing, camping, and working on cars, but most of all Doc loved the time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Doc was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the First Assembly of God Church, 2401 S. High Street in Kirksville, with Pastor Shawn Meintz officiating. Interment will follow the service at Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 for one hour before the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Josh Locust, Alex May, Steve Mortimer, Missie Mortimer, Billy Scott, and Tyler Summers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sandra Flynn and may be left at the church or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
