Neva Louise (Lay) Stamper of Kirksville Missouri, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at The Pines.

The oldest daughter of John William and Edna (Gehrke) Lay, she was born on January 14, 1927 on a farm east of Kirksville.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard Donald Stamper, husband Donald Forrest Stamper, sister Wilma Decker, brother William Lay and her brothers-in-law Joe Decker and Ralph Semetko.

Neva is survived by her youngest sister Vera Semetko of Scottsdale, AZ, grand-daughters Amber Warburton of Little Rock, Arkansas and Amy Stamper of Hot Springs, Arkansas, former daughter-in-law Dianne Western, great-grandchildren Dane Warburton, Case Warburton, Bailey Brake and nephews and nieces Dr. Nancy and Paul Williams, Joe and Linda Decker, Karen Herleth, Holli Semetko, and Craig Semetko and several great nieces and nephews.

As a young woman Neva worked for the shoe factory and McGraw Edison companies in Kirksville, Mo. Later she enjoyed her life on the farm, gardening, sewing, flowers and music shows. She will be missed terribly!

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2022 from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with graveside services following at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Twin Pines, Dr. Puckett, Dianne Western and Dixie Baxley for their care and comfort.
