Dale Eugene Miller, 87, of Brashear, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at his home under Hospice care and family by his side.

Born October 27, 1935 in Worthington, Missouri, Dale was the son of the late Harry Albert William and Effie Frances (May) Miller. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Dean Miller; 4 brothers-in-law, Orlan Ray, James Lykins, Darrel Bunch and Leroy Yadon, two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Snyder and Beulah Lykins.

On July 15, 1961 in Novinger, Missouri, Dale was united in marriage to Neva Rowland who survives after sixty-one loving years together; one son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Phyllis Miller of Kirksville, MO; his twin grandchildren, Chase Miller of Estero, FL and Kaitlyn Miller of Kirksville, MO; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Sandra Miller of Kansas City, MO, and Marvin and Marilyn Miller of Queen City, MO; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Garry Followwill of Unionville, MO, and Martina Yadon of Millard, MO; one brother-in-law, Carlos "Buddy" Snyder of Kirksville, MO; two very special sisters-in-law, Jane Ray of Kirksville, MO, and Charlene Bunch of Wichita, KS; as well as a number of very loved nieces and nephews.

Dale received his education at Putnam county rural schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 receiving the Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifle/Sharp Shooter Awards. After returning from the service, Dale worked for the Drury Feed Store in Greentop. Later he went to work for John Deere before going into a partnership with Ferrell Taylor selling machinery and farming. Dale then bought his own farm and in the 70's went to work for the County of Adair where he was an engineer for the Road and Bridge Department. He also served as the 2nd District Commissioner of Adair County four years. He then did dozing work for Gary Stanton, Bross Construction and Emery Sapp until retiring and after his retirement Dale did dozing work for Ken Reed until his health begin to fail in 2021.

Dale enjoyed fishing (has been know to even mysteriously catch them by hand), bird hunting, and playing cards. He was a very loving husband, father, and very proud grandfather of his twin grandchildren.

Dale was a lifetime member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge #1751, member of Masonic Lodge #365 of Greentop, and member of the Brashear Lions Club. He attended Sabbath Home Church and excepted God before his passing.

Public visitation will be held Monday, December 26, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites following at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Wheeler presiding. Interment will follow the service at Sabbath Home Cemetery in Brashear, MO.

Pallbearers will be Chase Miller, Randy Snyder, James Ray, Ronnie Followwill, Steve Followwill, and Jason Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Followwill, Rob Snyder, Jerod Miller, Basil Walker, Mike Western, Larry Higgins, Andrew Perry, Gary Taylor, Mark Moyer, and Bill Lawrence.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dale may be made to Sabbath Home Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

To Dale's Family - I was very sorry to learn of Dale's passing! He was a great guy & I always enjoyed talking with him! Thinking of all of his family & the Followill family which I have also known for many years! Prayers of peace & comfort!
