Anita Louise (Stidmon) Steele, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.

Born February 15, 1936 in Kirksville, Missouri, Anita was the daughter of the late Basil and Hazel (Bachman) Stidmon. On December 22, 1956 Anita was united in marriage to Andrew "Andy" Steele who preceded her in death on December 2, 2016. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Quinton Steele on August 11, 2015; one sister, Mary Williams, and one brother, Donald Morelock.

Anita is survived by one son, Alan Jay Steele of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Anda Reidt of Gray Summit, MO; one grandson, Andrew Reidt and wife Mallory of Gray Summit, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Anita was a graduate from Novinger High School. She was employed a number of years for Bohan Dentistry. Anita then worked for Geosling Chiropractic Office, and lastly for Shaffer Chiropractic Office.

Anita's greatest love of her life were her two grandsons. She loved the joy they provided and enjoyed watching them become adults. She and her husband Andy loved traveling many miles to attend their baseball and sporting events. They were also avid sports fans of Truman State Basketball following their games since 1953. Anita also loved and was accomplished in making ceramics.

Anita was a member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church of Kirksville.

Interment for Anita has taken place at Morelock Cemetery northwest of Novinger, Missouri, and her family will receive friends during a public visitation on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
