Imogene Craver Handley, 96, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Imogene was born on May 8, 1925 to Freeman and Minnie (Kenyon) Craver in Solvay, New York. She was the youngest of nine children. After she graduated from North High School, she became a telephone switchboard operator in Geneva, NY where she met her future Marine Corp. husband.

Imogene married Warren Handley on May 15, 1948 and they had three children, Cheryl Burwell (Darby) of Penargyl, PA, Kevin Handley (Toni Marie) of Cranston, RI, and Darlene Jackson (Dan) of Kirksville, MO, and proudly has thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. They lived in Linden, NJ for most of their sixty-five years of marriage.

Imogene served in many leadership positions in the community, school and her church. She and her husband served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Tallahassee Florida Missions as well as at the Washington DC and Manhattan NYC Temples. She led a life of selfless service to those around her and was loved by all.

Public visitation will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to service time at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Cremation will follow the service.
