June Laverne (Everett) Dimmitt, 84, of Floral City, Florida, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home.

On May 24, 1978 June was united in marriage to Danny Lee Dimmitt in Miami, OK.

Born and raised in Fort Gibson, OK, June graduated from Fort Gibson High School. She retired from the Veterans Administration and supported many veterans organizations.

Preceded in death by her husband, Danny, her parents Sewell O. Everett and Helen E. Everett; two sisters, three brothers, and two half brothers.

June is survived by brother, Frank F. Everett of Waggoner, OK; her three children, Virginia Schekorra (spouse Robert Ballew) of Inverness, FL, Jerry Cook (spouse Almira) of Inverness, FL, and Diane Cook (spouse Kyle Cooper) of Seminole, OK; and two step children, Duane Dimmitt of Lebanon, MO and Denise Bennett of Columbia, MO (spouse Andrew). She has 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was very active in the church, particularly involving children. She participated in her church-sponsored orphanage in Seminole, FL and the children there adored her. At Floral City Church of Christ, she assisted with gathering backpacks, coats, Christmas presents and school supplies for children of the community.

She loved her family and enjoyed outdoor activities with her husband and family such as camping and fishing or just playing cards. She is now in the presence of her savior and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating. Family will receive friends for one hour before the service.

Interment will follow the service Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of June may be made to Rite Care Valley of Columbia and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
