Forrest Edward Eitel, 92, of Queen City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

Born November 18, 1925 in Green Castle, Missouri, Forrest was the son of the late Sherman John and Iva Queen (Martin) Eitel. On March 26, 1948 in Kirksville, Missouri, Forrest was united in marriage to Nola Mae Ames.

Forrest is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Martin of Greentop, MO; two brothers, Ferris Eitel of Maryville, MO, and Linden Eitel of Moberly, MO; one sister, Roseva Albertson of Ames, IA; three grandchildren, Randy (Neina) Martin, Rodney (Wendy) Martin, and Ashlea (Jason) Sidwell; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Levi, Logan, Liley, and Raylea Sidwell, as well as several nieces and nephews.

As well as his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by one son, James Mark Eitel, and two brothers, Lee Hugh and Van Eljah Eitel.

Forrest received his education from the Kirksville pubic schools. He had been a cattle farmer on the same farm in rural Queen City since 1952, and loved socializing, horses, cattle, and visiting with family and neighbors.

He was a 4-H leader a number of years and an avid supporter of FFA.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Virgil Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Fugate Cemetery, northwest of Greentop, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Don Eitel, Daren Eitel, Dakotah Eitel, Jeremy Sevits, Phillip McGary, and Craig McGary. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Sevits, Dr. Wayne Smith, Dr. Gaylen Hill, Mike Sparks, Lowell Talbert, and Ivan Kaden.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Forrest Eitel may be made to Adair County 4-H or to Schuyler County 4-H and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
