Wilda Elta (Eskra) Evans, 92, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (June 21, 2016) at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville.

Wilda was born February 29, 1924 in Novinger, Missouri, the daughter of the late Matthew and Angelina (Iskra) Eskra. On February 19, 1949 in Macon, Missouri, Wilda was united in marriage to Virgil M. Evans who preceded her in death on March 9, 1985. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ladislov Eskra and Allan Eskra, and three sisters, Mary Mosley, Edith Smith, and Daisy Wharton.

Wilda is survived by her son, Michael Evans of Kirksville, MO; daughter and son-in-law, Ronna and John Mihalovich of Novinger, MO; one sister, Erma Auxter of Kirksville, MO; two grandchildren, Matt and Andy Mihalovich; seven great-grandchildren, Zach, Luke, Anna, Sara, Eva, Mark and Simon Mihalovich, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Wilda was raised in the Tipperary community and was a graduate from Novinger High School with the Class of 1940. She was employed twenty-five years at Florsheim Shoe Factory.

Wilda enjoyed playing the harmonica and played with the Friendly Sunshine Band a number of years. She was a member of the Young At Heart group, worked as a volunteer for RSVP and OATS, and was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Kirksville, where she was active in the Alter and Rosary Society.

Public visitation will be held Friday (June 24, 2016) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday (June 25, 2016) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Monsigner David Cox presiding. Music selections "Precious Memories" and "Amazing Grace" will be provided by Twila Jones. Interment will follow the service at Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Alan Coonfield, Don Auxter, Greg Dabney, Larry Evans, Jim Crnic, and Ferrel McClanahan.
