Thomasene Mae (Beary) Shriver, 87, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the University Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Misosuri.

Born March 13, 1928 in Powersville, Missouri, Thomasane was the daughter of J.D.S. and Iva (Rutter) Beary. On May 30, 1951 in Unionville, Missouri, Thomasene was united in marriage to Dwain Shriver who preceded her in death on May 6, 1991.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Tommy in 1994, and two sisters, Anna Marie Rhoads, Norma Jean Callison and her sister-in-law, Bereneice Warren.

Thomasene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janine and Jami Sevits of Kirksville, MO; two grandsons, Jake Sevits and wife Kaity, and Joel Sevits and Meredith Thomas all of Kirksville, MO, as well as a number of very special nieces and nephews.

Thomasene was a graduate from Unionville High School and Missouri State Teacher's College in Kirksville. She then taught school several years in Powersville. Thomasene was a faithful employee of Lila M. Farr Accounting for thirty-five years until her retirement.

Thomasene had a heart of gold and her energy was endless. "Barney Tom" was very dedicated to her family and faithful to her friends. She will be sadly missed, but her memory will last forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Thomasene was very active in many organizations including 4-H and High School Rodeo with her children, Board Member of Powersville Cemetery, Senior Circle, Past Worthy Matron of Kirksville Chapter N..184, OES, Women's Auxiliary, American Legion, VFW, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing on Saturday nights, she was active in Adair County Relay for Life, and was a member of the Kirksville Cancer Support Group. Thomasene was also a loyal blood donor to American Red Cross for many years donating so that lives might be saved.

Thomasene was a faithful member of Faith United Methodist Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Sheila Swafford officiating. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.

Family visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from noon to service time at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jami Sevits, Jake Sevits, Joel Sevits, Brad Callison, Gary Callison, David Gardner and Gary Eagen. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Callison and John Rhoads.

In lieu of flowers, family would like memorials be made to Faith United Methodist Church or to Powersville Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Family will receive friends for a celebration of Thomasene's life starting at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, following her service at the Moose Lodge in Kirksville.
