Heather Elaine Kelsey, 40, of Baring, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Monday (June 17, 2013) at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The daughter of Larry and Connie (McKim) Kelsey, she was born December 17, 1972 in Peoria, Illinois. On June 23, 1990, Heather was united in marriage to Brent Moore and to this union three children were born.

Heather is survived by her parents, Larry and Connie Kelsey of Brashear, MO; two sons, Cody Moore and fiancée, Sadie Schrage of Baring, MO and Matthew Moore of Hurdland, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Deidre and Nathan Overstreet of Baring, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Stephanie Kelsey of Garden City, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Brent Jackson of Downing, MO; one grandson, Kayden Moore, as well as several nieces, nephew, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, including Beulah (Kelsey) Byers and one brother, Lawrence Gene Kelsey in infancy.

Heather received her education in the Brashear R-II public school. She worked as a respiratory therapist several years at Northeast Regional and was last employed as a home health aide for R.A.I.L.

Heather’s family was her life and she will be remembered for being a wonderful daughter, mother, sister and grandmother.

Heather’s home was like a second home for all of her children’s friends, and was called “Mom” by many. She was a very kind hearted person who knew no strangers. Heather’s grandson Kayden was her pride and joy, even though she was in his life a short time. Kayden will have memories of his grandma for a lifetime.

She was a member of The Crossing of Kirksville.

Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday (June 20, 2013) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday (June 21, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Graeme Golding presiding. Interment will follow the service at Willmathsville Cemetery, in Willmathsville, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Kelsey, Tyler Kelsey, Nathan Overstreet, Corey Nichols, Brent Jackson and Ronald Moore.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heather Kelsey Memorial Fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
