Loretta Jean Ellsworth, 84, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Sunday (May 20, 2012) at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

On January 11, 1928 in Ringo Point, Missouri, Loretta was born the daughter of William Floyd and Laura Mary (Thompson) Daniels. On April 6, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri, Loretta was united in marriage to Leslie Curtis ElLoretta Jean Ellsworth, 84, of Novinger, Missouri, was called to her Heavenly home Sunday (May 20, 2012) at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

On January 11, 1928 in Ringo Point, Missouri, Loretta was born the daughter of William Floyd and Laura Mary (Thompson) Daniels. On April 6, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri, Loretta was united in marriage to Leslie Curtis Ellsworth.

Loretta is survived by her husband Leslie of sixty-five years; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Nancy Beth and Larry Roberts of Kirksville, MO, Leslie Marie and John Frederick of Bible Grove, MO, Laura Ellen Steele of Richmond, MO and Sara Lynn and Terry Nelson of McKinney, TX; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ivan and Marilyn Daniels of Novinger, MO and Jerry and Nancy Daniels of Gailsburg, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thelma Daniels of Novinger, MO, Norma and Delbert Robison, Faye and Glen Sallade, Joe and Joanne Seay all of Kirksville, MO, and Dean and Bebe Ellsworth of Novinger, MO; ten grandchildren, Rodney (Amy) Baumgartner, Amanda (Matt) Heeren, Jana (Kyle) Zinnert, Dana (Nick) Mathews, Leslie (Stephanie) Richmond, Danny Richmond, Bradley (Angie) Steele, Brian (Melissa) Steele, Laura (Brett) Smoot and Taryn Nelson, and nineteen great-grandchildren, Shelbie Baumgartner, Randon Baumgartner, Adison Baumgartner, Benson Heeren, Brynley Heeren, Luke Mathews, Layne Mathews, Leigh Mathews, Jessie Loretta Mathews, Kacy Zinnert, Grayson Zinnert, Kade Richmond, Tayte Richmond, Urijah Richmond, Macki Steele, Lochlan Steele, Eli Steele, Ella Steele and Brody Smoot, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Melvin Braker, one brother, Jim Daniels; one nephew, Stacy Daniels; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen and Albert Sandretto, Aldo Ellsworth, and Becky Snyder.

Loretta was a life long resident of Adair County, graduating from the Novinger R-I High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and sewing, making blankets for all of her grandchildren and baby blankets for her great-grandchildren. She also was a devoted reader of her Bible. Her family was her life and Loretta will be remembered by her entire family for her wonderful cinnamon rolls, for her gardens and for her flowers she raised, (especially her African violets). She was a very loving grandmother who enjoyed her grandchildren’s activities.

Loretta was a very devoted member of the Pure Air Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and Bible school most of her life. She was also a member of the Baptist Women’s Association.

Public visitation is in progress and family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday (May 22, 2012) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Huskisson and Pastor Don Noble officiating. Music selections “How Great Thou Art” and “Let Others See Jesus In You” will be provided by Twila Jones, who will be accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Interment will follow the service at Pratt Cemetery, southwest of Novinger, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Baumgartner, Bradley Steele, Brian Steele, Leslie Richmond, Danny Richmond and Nick Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Heeren, Kyle Zinnert, Brett Smoot and her great-grandsons, Randon, Benson, Grayson, Luke, Kade, Tayte, Urijah, Lochlan, Eli and Brody.
