Terril Lee Bailey, 73, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (November 10, 2011) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, where he had been living the past three months.

The son of Martin Olan and Izez Pauline (Whittom) Bailey, he was born in Kirksville on February 22, 1938, spent his early years in Mexico, Missouri, then returned to Kirksville. He was educated in the Kirksville schools.

Terry is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Larry Louder of Kirksville; one half-brother, Rodney Bailey and wife Susie of Columbia, MO; one half-sister, Carolyn Bailey of St. Louis, MO; one step-sister, Sharon Quinsenberry and husband Larry of Ames, IA; several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Bailey.

Terry was employed as a housekeeper at the hospital and medical school for a combined total of over thirty-five years. His passion was going to car shows to exhibit his 1991 Dodge Ram diesel truck for which he garnered many trophies. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting memorabilia. Terry also liked to talk about the history of Kirksville as he knew it from the many years he lived here.

He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.

Public visitation is in progress and family will receive friends this evening, Friday (November 11, 2011) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday (November 12, 2011) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Dan Todd officiating. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Potter, Brian Blaise, Alan Cornelison, Gerald Helton, Claude Conley and Wayne King. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Louder, Rick Louder, Scott Louder, Corey Louder, Kyle Louder and Jarrod Louder.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Terry Bailey may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospice of Northeast Missouri. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
