Vernon Leon Salsberry, 73, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at his home.

The son of the late Edwin Eugene and Margie Mae (Davis) Salsberry, he was born October 7, 1949 in Novinger, Missouri. On March 8, 1969 in Novinger, Missouri, Vernon was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Banning who preceded him in death on December 31, 2012. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Buster Salsberry; and one sister, Connie Salsberry.

Vernon is survived by his special friend Kathy Conner of Novinger, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Miranda Salsberry of Novinger, MO; one daughter Kelli Tate and Bryan Trappe both of Novinger, MO; four brothers and a sister-in-law, Eddie Salsberry of Kirksville, MO, Bill and Carol Salsberry of Queen City, MO; and Bob Salsberry and Frankie Salsberry both of Novinger, MO; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janice Frost of Green Castle, MO, and Barb and Larry Burke of Baring, MO; four grandchildren, Cody (Annie) Tate, Cymben Coin, Ceiren Eads, and Cienna Eads; four great-grandchildren, Zavier Tate, Deklyn Coin, Daytyn Coin, and Daegyn Coin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Vernon was a life long resident of Novinger and graduate of Novinger R-I High School. Vernon was employed over forty years for Mihalevich Construction Company of Kirksville. He was a great pool player in his day, enjoyed the game of washers, camping in the Ozarks, hunting and fishing with his grandson Cody, and was a member of the Novinger Chariton River Bikers Club. He was also a member of the Novinger Baptist Church.

It was Vernon's wish to be cremated and no service be held.

Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
