Andrea Lee (Riess) Horn passed peacefully in the early morning of September 28, 2017 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

Andrea was born on September 7, 1941 in Evansville, IN to Walter Lee and Wanda Lee (Herron) Riess. At an early age the family settled in New Berlin, IL. On November 15, 1959 Andrea married Robert (Bob) Lee Horn at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Berlin. In 1960, Bob and Andrea purchased a farm in northern Adair County and moved to Greentop, MO. Andrea began work at the Bank of Kirksville and then started her family.

Andrea and Bob raised four children on their farm in Greentop. Andrea was an active leader in the Missouri 4-H, and the Parent Teacher Organization in the Kirksville Schools. She was a sister in the Lancaster Preceptor Delta Psi chapter, of the National Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Andrea was also an active Church member at Faith Lutheran Church in Kirksville where she served in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, the alter guild, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, and was a founding leader of the Sunshine Circle.

Andrea received her accreditation from the National Institute of Nutritional Education in the 1980’s and managed the Kirksville Country Store before pursuing a career in telecommunications sales.

Andrea moved to the Kansas City area in the 1990’s for her career before she retired and moved back to Kirksville in 2005. Andrea was then diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. In 2010 she moved into assisted living at The Arbors, then in 2012 moved to Kirksville Manor Care.

Andrea is survived by her husband, Bob of Kirksville, four children, Robert Horn Jr of Memphis, TN, Rhonda and husband, Scott Yoder of Houston, TX, Rebecca and husband, Joe Davis of Imperial, MO and Randell Horn and wife, Kasaundra of Platte City, MO, six grandchildren Clinton Davis, Miranda Davis and Jacob Davis of Imperial Missouri and Andrea Horn, Randell Horn Jr. and Austin Lewis of Platte City, MO, four brothers, Richard Riess and wife, Pat of Miami Beach, FL, Thomas Riess and wife, Lucinda of Atlanta, GA, Steve Riess and wife, Linda of Plano, TX and Eric Riess of Springfield, IL, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Lukefahr presiding. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville. Public visitation will be held at the church with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
