Quinton Hunter Steele, 21, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday (August 11, 2015) at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of Alan Jay and Casey Renee (Burriss) Steele, he was born November 14, 1993 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Quinton is survived by his father, Alan Steele of Kirksville, MO; his mother and step-father, Casey and Anthony Platte of Kirksville, MO; four brothers, Jordan Platte and Colby Platte both of Colorado, and Elijah Platte and Benjamin Platte both of Kirksville, MO; grandparents, Andrew and Anita Steele of Kirksville, MO, Wayne and Pauline Burriss of Novinger, MO and Goldie Platte of Brashear, MO; one aunt, Anda Reidt of Gray Summit, MO; one cousin, Andrew Reidt of Gray Summit, MO, and several step-cousins.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Samuel.

Quinton was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 2012 and attended Moberly Community College. During high school Quinton worked at Hy-Vee and he was last employed at Papa Johns.

Quinton played KBSA and summer baseball on a traveling team. He was a good baseball player and enjoyed playing his guitar. Quinton loved the time spent with his friends.

Quinton was a member of Hamilton Street Baptist Church of Kirksville.

Public visitation will be held Sunday (August 16, 2015) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday (August 17, 2015) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Pitney officiating. Interment will follow at Morelock Cemetery, north of Novinger.

Pallbearers will be Harrison Dollins, Quinn Benson, Jacob Hutton, Landon Rice, Scott Schwend, and Clay Darr. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Reidt and Andrew Giovannini.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Quinton Steele may be made to the Morelock Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
