Rose Marie (Johnston) Baker, 64, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at her home.

The daughter of Irvin and Vernetta (Bausewell) Johnston she was born April 25, 1951 in Rutledge, Missouri. On April 24, 1976, Rose was united in marriage to Richard Lee Baker.

Rose is survived by her husband Richard of thirty-nine years; one daughter, Ginger Lou Baker of Greentop, MO; one son, Jeremy Johnston of Iowa; one brother, Maynard Johnston of Rutledge, MO; six grandchildren including, Brandon, Jessica and Dustin Johnson all of Kirksville, MO; three nephews, Kerry Baker of Kansas City, MO, Eric Johnston of Rutledge, MO and Kyle Johnston of Rutledge, MO; two nieces, Holley Baker of Kansas City, MO and Jessica Johnston of South MO, and one cousin, Phillip Pruitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Danny Johnston and one sister Wanda.

Rose attended elementary school in Rutledge and later Gorin High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. She began working at Lambert's Glove Factory in Kirksville in the early 70's and later attended Kirksville Cosmetology School. Rose was employed from 1973 to 1977 at Hollister, Inc. After retiring early, Rose was a stay at home mom and did other varieties of work in and out of her home.

Rose enjoyed shopping, attending gun and dog auctions at Rutledge, RFD TV and eating out.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Jimmy Brown officiating. Music selections "The Rose" and "Mansion Over the Hilltop" will be provided by Jimmy Brown and Kathy Capps. Interment will follow the service at Mulberry Cemetery, northwest of Kirksville.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2015) from noon to 2:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Johnson, Kyle Johnston, Eric Johnston, Kerry Phillip Baker, Barry Winkleman, J.B. Lorey, Don Pope and Phillip Pruitt.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Rose Marie Baker may be made to the Mulberry Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
