Arthur Eugene Barnes, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (January 15, 2015) at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of Arthur D. and Virginia (Morgenstern) Barnes, he was born July 12, 1937 in Willmathsville, Missouri. On January 26, 1963 in Kirksville, Missouri, Art was united in marriage to Shirley Clay.

Art is survived by his wife Shirley of fifty years; three sons, Danny Barnes of Kirksville, MO, Eugene Alexander Barnes of Edmond, OK, and Jeffrey Barnes of Kirksville, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Kay Barnes of Kirksville, MO; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

It was Art’s wish to be cremated and no service will be held.
