Ida “Louise” Thomas, 69, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (February 5, 2013) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Roy Eugene Finley and Beatrice Claudia (Barnhart), Louise was born June 9, 1943 in Greentop, Missouri. On November 1, 1967, in Kirksville, Louise was united in marriage to James Monroe Thomas.

Louise is survived by her husband, James of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Charles and Robin Shacklett of Worthington, Missouri, James and Sandye Shacklett of Yuma, Arizona, and Charles Thomas of Kirksville; three daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda and James Ferguson of Kirksville, Amanda Thomas and Lucas Perry of La Plata, Missouri, and Delisa and Chip Lowery of Kirksville; one brother, Jerry Finley of Lone Tree, Iowa; two sisters, Donna Shacklett of Eminence, Missouri, and Linda Sapp of Elk Run Heights, Iowa; nine grandchildren: April, J.R., Danelle, Marcus, Megan, Courtney, Caitlyn, Kayla and Lane; and six great grandchildren: Jayden, Dylan, Annalie, Christian, Sophia and Adrian.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gene and Bob Finley.

Louise graduated from high school in Greentop, Missouri. She spent her entire life in the Kirksville area, working at Hollister for thirty years. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kirksville. She enjoyed her grandkids, reading, crossword puzzles, her computer, going out to drink coffee with friends, music and her dog.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday (February 8, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Reverend Charles Jackson presiding. Burial will follow in the Greentop Cemetery in Greentop.

Family will receive friends Friday (February 8, 2013) from noon to 2:00 PM, at Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
