William Stewart Watt, 76, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away Monday (November 4, 2013) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The son of Theodore Roosevelt and Virginia Ilene (Stewart) Watt, he was born January 10, 1937 in Green City, Missouri. On August 8, 1955 in Kirksville, Missouri, Stewart was united in marriage to Janelle Yowell who preceded him in death on October 31, 2013.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister in infancy; one brother, Phillip Ray Watt; three grandchildren, Dustin Watt, Waylon Pearson and Mark Thomas Watt Jr.; son-in-law, Dwight Pearson and daughter-in-law, Jeanie Watt.

Stewart is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Penny Watt of Kirksville, MO, Mark Watt of Greentop, MO, Doug and Cathy Watt of Queen City, MO and Jeff Watt of Greentop, MO; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Jim Russ of Kansas City, MO, Debbie and Doug Pearson of Greentop, MO and Cheryl and Jeff Watson of Queen City, MO; one brother, John Stanley Watt of Davenport, IA; one sister, Kathleen Kitterman of Trinity, FL; twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Stewart was a graduate from Green City High School. He and Janelle had resided the past forty-five years in Greentop. In 1963, Stewart started trucking for Weber Trucking Co., where he was employed ten years. Stewart continued trucking and was last employed for Gully’s Trucking Company where he worked twenty years until retiring in 2009.

Stewart enjoyed his mornings with the Coffee Club Drinker’s of McDonald’s in Kirksville, trading cars, riding his golf cart and loved his two dogs.

He was a member of the Greentop Methodist Church.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday (November 6, 2013) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (November 7, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow the service at Greentop Cemetery in Greentop, MO.

Pallbearers will be Josh Dole, Jeremy Pearson, Jason Pearson, Ashley Watson, Robbie Small, Matt Creason, Nick Oliver and Jeffrey Sharp. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Pfeiffer, Leon Shafer, Lonnie Burns, Charlie Long, J.C. Summers and Emery Munn.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Stewart Watt may be made to the Greentop Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
