Brody Lee Schoonover Gosney, 7, of Halfway, Missouri, passed away Sunday (June 3, 2012) in rural Greentop, Missouri.

The son of Steven Patrick and Kara Elaine (Gosney) Schoonover, he was born April 22, 2005 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Brody is survived by his father, Steven Schoonover of Queen City, MO; his mother, Kara Gosney of Halfway, MO; grandparents, Roger Gosney of Memphis, MO, Stephanie Gosney of Valley Springs, CA and Rick and Pat Schoonover of Greentop, MO; two brothers, Austin Gosney and Chase Stark both of Halfway, MO; and three sisters, Mikayla Gosney of Halfway, MO, Selby Schoonover of Unionville, MO and Bailey Schoonover of Kirksville, MO.

Brody was a fun loving boy who never got mad and will be remembered for being a good kid who everyone loved. He enjoyed baseball, Power Rangers, fishing, riding horses and loved spending time outdoors.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (June 7, 2012) with family receiving friends one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Pastor Ralph Wheeler will officiate the service. Interment will follow the service at New Harmony Cemetery west of Greentop, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Austin Gosney, Evan Gosney, Matt Findling and Jay Findling. Honorary bearers will be Trevlar Lay, Cole Kelsall, Zach Warwick, Jimmy Jenkins and Grayce Peterson.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Brody may be made to KBSA. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

To the family of Brody, I extend my deepest, most heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beautiful boy, be he your son, grandson, nephew, brother, friend. I cannot imagine the depths of your grief and despair at such an incredible loss. My thoughts are with all of you and for now, I wish you peace because understanding will forever elude you.
