Brenda Joy Watkins


Brenda Joy Watkins, 48, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday (April 8, 2012) at her home under Hospice care.

The daughter of Lawrence Rudolph and Corine JoAnn (Dimler) Krahn, she was born July 12, 1963 in Spring Valley, Minnesota. On September 26, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Brenda was united in marriage to Shane Watkins.

Brenda is survived by her parents, Lawrence and Corine Krahn of Spring Valley, MN; her husband, Shane Watkins of the home; three sons, Christopher Queensland of Independence, MO, Beau Watkins of El Paso, TX and Brett Watkins of Kirksville, MO; three daughters, Jennifer Queensland and Katie Queensland both of Kirksville, MO and Megan Karren of Altamont, UT; one brother, Bradley Krahn of Spring Valley, MN; three sisters, Beverly Battis of Wenatchee, WA, Betty Kunert of Spring Valley, MN and Bonnie Long of Thermopolis, WY, and six very loved grandchildren, Olivia Boyer, Levi Boyer, Caileigh Queensland, Connor Queensland, Sofia Watkins and Lainey Karren.

Brenda was a graduate from Spring Valley High School in Spring Valley, Minnesota. She worked in construction until 2010, when she and her husband bought Troy Mills Country Store in Kirksville. Brenda was an EMT and volunteer fire fighter for the Novinger Rural Fire Department.

She loved her husband, children and family and Brenda’s grandchildren were the greatest love and joy of her life.

Public visitation will be held Friday (April 13, 2012) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday (April 14, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Marty Palermo presiding. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Street, Silas Springer, Seth Dimmit, Tim Atteberry, Blake Roberts and Mitchell Ray.
